The process of building a home can seem a little daunting if you’ve never done it before – or even if you have. Here at Regal Homes, we are with you every step of the way! We have made the process of building one of our homes as simple and easy to follow as possible. Check out these 12 steps to owning your Regal dream home.  

1. SIGN A 7-DAY HOMESITE HOLD AGREEMENT WITH A $5,000 DEPOSIT

The journey begins! The first step is signing the homesite hold agreement and submitting your deposit. This step includes loan approval, proof of funds & due diligence. Take a deep breath. You’re on your way. 

2. SIGN A NEW CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT (NCA) 

This step is when you make a 3% Initial Construction Deposit. 

3. DESIGN CENTER PROCESS

Within 7 days of signing the NCA, you’ll make your first visit to the Design Center for personalization ideas. Then, over the next month, you’ll have a series of personalization meetings with your Regal Homes Designer. 

4. PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTED

We take care of this one. We submit the permits for your new home so construction can begin. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the plan to be reviewed and your permit to be issued. 

5. PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING

Within 10 days of the issuance of your building permit, you will meet with your team and review everything. We’ll answer questions and set up future communication channels. 

6. CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Within 9 months of the installation of the footings, we finish building your new home! 

7. FRAMING & ELECTRICAL WALK THROUGH 

After your home is framed and certain systems are installed, we will schedule a walk-through with you. This is your opportunity to see “behind the walls”. You’ll review the electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other details before the drywall is installed.

8. FINAL INSPECTION 

Prior to closing, our experienced team, along with representatives from the city and the bank, walks through your home and evaluates it from top to bottom, assuring all expectations and requirements have been met.

9. BUYER HOME ORIENTATION, WALK THROUGH & HOME COMPLETION 

We take you through the operation and care of your home’s systems. Our goal is for your home to be 100% complete at this time. If anything needs correcting, your manager will document it and commit to a time to have it completed.

10. CLOSING AT TITLE COMPANY & TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP

Congratulations… it’s Closing Day! After you sign the closing documents and finalize any closing costs and the down payment, your loan will be funded. Congratulations on your new home! 

11. & 12. KEYS RELEASED & MOVE-IN!

Welcome Home! You are now the proud owner of a Regal home! We wish you many happy years and memories in your new home.
